Mark Duggan Buried

I was dismayed to see the funeral of Mark Duggan today. His family insist he was no gangster but we had a funeral akin to one of the Krays.

I was pleased to hear some of the church leaders involved in the ceremony speaking out against violence and recriminations.

I am not surprised at all that David Lamentable, the disgraceful MP for Tottenham, is still blaming everyone else for the riots. His attention has turned to the IPCC. He now states that if the IPCC had dealt with the family and community differently all the rioting could have been avoided. If the IPCC had made clear to the family that they were independent of the police and if they had held a press conference assuring everyone that a thorough inquiry would be carried out none of the rioting need have happened. Isn't the clue in the name? This pathetic, apology for an MP will never ever suggest that some of the people of Tottenham were wrong to start rioting because the IPCC hadn't given them enough respect. Innit.

The IPCC do have some questions to answer. How did they manage to put out a press release stating that Duggan died in an exchange of fire with police? Why did the IPCC not tell the family that Duggan had been shot and killed? Calls for the disbandment of the IPCC are ridiculous. Whatever organisation or process is put in place to investigate police action will never appease some.

I am disappointed that the family, and some of those that latch themselves onto families in these circumstances, are still making ridiculous speculative comments regarding the circumstances of Duggan's death. According to some, the police now have a shoot to kill policy. Duggan's fingerprints are not on the gun found at the scene and so it must have been planted by the police. Duggan was an ordinary family man who was hoping to get a job with London Fire Brigade.

We should, of course, wait for the result of the inquiry but these ridiculous allegations deserve a response. For an unemployed man Duggan had a lifestyle way beyond a person in receipt of benefits. The gun found at the scene was loaded and capable of being fired. The gun was in a sock. This is a well known method for  criminals to avoid leaving fingerprints and other forensic evidence. The inquiry may reveal that the police had intelligence that Duggan intended to shoot the person who killed his cousin, Kelvin Easton. He had been stabbed during an argument about a woman and drugs. The police were following Duggan and made the decision to intercept him. What threat Duggan posed to justify being shot is the only real question. If the officer felt he was at threat from the weapon that should be the end of it.

  1. Meanwhile....Black Nationalist, publicly subsidised, Lee Jasper is claiming that the Met have "shoot to kill hit squads".

Its this kind of thing that makes me determined to not grow old in this country.

  3. Katabasis - Lee Jasper! Now there is a post all on its own. He is a good example of where we have gone wrong with regard to equality and diversity.
No one is going to suggest that race and equality were not serious issues 20 years ago. The world is not perfect now and it never will be.
The private sector have taken on board the changes and moved forward. The public sector fete and provide succour to so called equality and diversity social scientists. We have a whole industry bleeding from the public purse. Public sector organisations employ vast numbers of these leeches in their quest to 'consult' 'engage' 'listen' etc. Lee Jasper is the king of these leeches. Police Leaders have been some of the worst offenders wasting huge resources. The police have become not only the enforcers of the law but of peoples morals and thoughts.
This country's policies have brought about the growing feral underclass that threaten to overun our society. In the same way those policies are encouraging some sections of our society to opt out, choosing a life of gangs, drugs and crime using the flawed excuse that they won't get a fair deal of the cards in 'normal' society.
Until we start seeing more black leaders speaking out against irresponsible parenting, gang culture, crime and lame excuses. Until we see more black leaders telling their communities to start parenting, get an education, stop talking and behaving like Harlem gangsters, stop making excuses for wasting your lives and make something of your opportunities, little is going to change.

I heard Pauline Pearce on the radio the other day. She is the woman who was shouting at the rioters in Hackney. She didn't even know who her MP was. (Diane Abbott.) What does that say about the current so called leaders in the community?

  4. Dear lex,
A great blog, son. I write to make a formal request for a donation of £3.25 towards my new PC. This will entitle you to three comments on my better blog without any of my customary misrepresentation.

I am also pleased to inform you of your win on the Art Discovery Lottery. This special win includes some fine originals which came into my possession through Wiltshire Lost Property. Just send £50 to Tuesday Books to cover the administration costs.
    Cheers

  5. WTF is Archbishop Desmond Tutu doing at this gangsters funeral?

  6. @ Insp Gizmore - I am sorry to see that one of my colleagues has a begging bowl out. Insp Gadget suggests that his wife won't let him buy a new PC and so he would like readers to buy it for him. He who wears the trousers at work does not always wear them at home it would seem. I can assure you that readers of this blog will be able to continue to do so for free and if I cannot afford a new computer I will stop blogging. Having said that, in between blogging I do find I need to relax and I haven't had a holiday this year. A nice holiday should put me in a good frame of mind to post some great new material. If anyone would like to make a donation towards this they can do so at bmycharity.com/h4h

  7. Have you heard the rumour that the Met paid for this big fat gangster funeral? I hope it isn't true but if it is it will come out in the Daily Mail soon to howls of disbelief (rightfully this time).
It does sicken me when Op Trident senior officers kiss the arses of the family of their "victim" when we all know most of them deserve what they got.

  8. Good morning, Jaded.

And are you at liberty to state the source of this unsurprising rumour?

  9. Well Melvin I was in the doughnut shop with all my colleagues, telling racist jokes, pushing drunks over and planting evidence on passers-by when the subject came up.

  10. Oh my dear Jaded, a plague upon my house should I ever insult your duties with an inference of neglect. I just relished this rumour and would as always, give your sauce all the credit.

  11. 'Sauce?' And you claim to be educated Melvyn. Tnag0

  12. Jaded, I saw a suggestion of this on another site. I doubt very much if the Met paid for the funeral. They wouldn't be that stupid. Or would they? If I hear any more I will post.

  13. Tango-not wishing to defend Melvin but he used the word relish in the same sentence so the word SAUCE may have been deliberate. He rarely does a typo as he's so quick to point out the short-comings of other.I got castigated on one site for using WHERE instead of were. It's certainly tightened up my diction.

  14. Jaded/Lex

I appear to have a stalker who likes to impersonate me (Anonymous at 14.20). Does make things a trifle confusing, with Melvyn appearing to believe I am Lex as well.

I wouldn't stoop to criticising MTG's spelling - he still seems to take gleeful relish in my typo of Tnag0 for Tang0. That'll teach me to respond on a smartphone ;-)

    Tang0

    ReplyDelete
  15. Tang0 had two results this week. On Monday he told the Super that 75% of the job was paperwork and the other half was mental presence. On Friday he had his head X-rayed and Doctors found nothing.

    ReplyDelete
  16. I'm confused, which won't surprise Melvyn, of course. If I understand this correctly, Tang0 is Tang0, MTG thinks I am Tang0 and someone else is pretending to be Tango or Tnag0.
Tang0, are you able to register as Tang0 so that you come up in that name when you post instead of anonymous?
Is the impersonator MTG, or are we getting as paranoid as he is?

  17. I'm confused too Lex. The Met did not pay for this funeral. The tacky, disgusting show we saw was paid for by ganster associates of Mark Duggan. In other words it was paid for out of the misery caused to thousands of drug addicts.
It is absolutely disgraceful that thousands of so called mourners turn out for this chirade and shows the support this community has for drug dealing scum.
Duggan is still being portrayed as this devoted father who spent all his time at home with his children. Truth is he had three children by one baby mother and has just had another by a second baby mother. Still at least he isn't the stereotypical absent father. Oh sorry, he is now isn't he?
